Debenhams is preparing to announce a loss of almost £500m for the year to September, its biggest annual loss since it started trading more than 205 years ago.

I really do love to shop at Debenhams, it's my go to store especially for my 3 year old daughter.. Ted Baker being one of my favourite concessions at Debenhams and it will really hurt if my local store closes down.

I mean it's 2018 and majority of our shopping is now done conveniently online with almost all online retailers offering free next day delivery... Especially if you are a working professional, you can just have your items delivered to your work address (very handy) or to your home..

Its a shame that the troubled department store swung to a loss of almost £500m for the year to September 1, its biggest annual loss since it started trading more than 205 years ago, compared to a £59m profit in 2017.
The main drivers for the loss are write downs worth more than half a billion pounds connected to goodwill and store impairments linked to store leases and computer systems.
Like-for-like revenue dropped 2.3pc over the period, while total sales for the year also fell 1.8pc to £2.9bn.
I'l update if there's more news to this but at the moment, this is all that has been reported.

Morning Pasta lovers, today October 25th 2018 is officially #WorldPastaDay.. Today is a day to eat as much Pasta as you please without having a care in the world because after all, its World Pasta Day...

World Pasta Day has been celebrated on 25 October every year since 1998 with promotional initiatives and parallel events held throughout the world. 2018 marks the 20th Anniversary of WORLD PASTA DAY.
The event is organized by the IPO (International Pasta Organization), for which Aidepi has taken care of the Secretariat since its foundation in 2005. The first World Pasta Day was held in Naples in 1998. Since then, this event has been held every year, moving to Genoa (1999), Rome (2000, 2001 and 2002), Naples (2003), New York (2004), Barcelona (2005), Rome (2006), Mexico City (2007), Istanbul (2008), New York (2009), Rio de Janeiro (2010), Rome (2011), Mexico City (2012), Istanbul (2013), Buenos Aires (2014) and then again, this time to Milan (25-27 October 2015) at EXPO 2015. In 2016 it was Moscow’s turn, with São Paulo hosting the event in 2017.

The 20th World Pasta Day is organized by the International Past Organisation and AIDEPI (Italy) in Dubai, with the support of ITA (Italian Trade Agency).

The event aims to maximize promotion of an extraordinary, good, healthy, nutritious, accessible and sustainable food, a pillar of the Mediterranean Diet, recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Authoritative experts and opinion leaders will be invited to delve into scientific, economic, technological, cultural and gastronomic aspects linked to pasta in front of an international audience made up of pasta makers and supply chain operators, representatives from the economic sector, academics, institutions and media, to reaffirm the truth about pasta starting from its roots and outlining its path between past, present and future. worldpastaday.org

Today 16th October is World Food day...

World Food Day is celebrated every year around the world on 16 October in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945. The day is celebrated widely by many other organizations concerned with food security, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.
The World Food Day theme for 2014 was Family Farming: "Feeding the world, caring for the earth"; in 2015 it was "Social Protection and Agriculture: Breaking the Cycle of Rural Poverty"; in 2016 it is Climate Change: "Climate is changing. Food and agriculture must too", which echoes the theme of 2008, and of 2002 and 1989 before that.. wiki.com

World Food Day (WFD) was established by FAO's Member Countries at the Organization's 20th General Conference in November 1979. The Hungarian Delegation, led by the former Hungarian Minister of Agriculture and Food Dr. Pál Romány, played an active role at the 20th Session of the FAO Conference and suggested the idea of celebrating the WFD worldwide. It has since been observed every year in more than 150 countries, raising awareness of the issues behind poverty and hunger.

Themes

Since 1981, World Food Day has adopted a different theme each year in order to highlight areas needed for action and provide a common focus.
Most of the themes revolve around agriculture because only investment in agriculture – together with support for education and health – will turn this situation around. The bulk of that investment will have to come from the private sector, with public investment playing a crucial role, especially in view of its facilitating and stimulating effect on private investment.
In spite of the importance of agriculture as the driving force in the economies of many developing countries, this vital sector is frequently starved of investment. In particular, foreign aid to agriculture has shown marked declines over the past 20 years.iki.com

World Egg Day  is celebrated around the world and helps to raise awareness of the benefits of eggs and their importance in human nutrition.

World Egg Day was established at the IEC Vienna 1996 conference when it was decided to celebrate World Egg Day on the second Friday in October each year.

For centuries, eggs have played a major role in feeding families around the globe. They are an unbeatable package when it comes to versatility and top-quality protein at a very affordable price. And they are also an excellent source of choline, essential in memory and brain development. When you factor in convenience and terrific taste, there is just no competition.

Eggs are one of nature’s highest quality sources of protein, and indeed contain many of the key ingredients for life. The proteins contained within eggs are highly important in the development of the brain and muscles, have a key role to play in disease prevention and contribute to general well being.- source-.internationalegg.com

Eggs are a good source of vitamins A, D, B2, B12, folate and iodine and I love that eggs are very versatile, I probably eat eggs every other day. Check out my youtube channel and I've made a few egg dishes, that's how much I love me some eggs..

World Mental Health Day is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. It was first celebrated in 1992 at the initiative of the World Federation for Mental Health, a global mental health organization with members and contacts in more than 150 countries..

The World Health Organisation recognises World Mental Health Day on 10 October every year.
The day provides an opportunity "for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide". This year's theme set by the World Federation for Mental Health is young people and mental health in a changing world. wiki.com

We all need to take care of our mental health and wellbeing whether we have a mental health problem or not.
Mental wellbeing describes how you are feeling and how well you can cope with day-to-day life. It can change from moment to moment,  day to day, month to month or year to year. Happy awareness day today.. Make sure you check on your neighbour, your colleague, friend or family today.. Its important as not many people will speak out.. Check on a loved one today..

This is sooo random but I really like to express myself by writing just because I love writing (hence the blog) and I just love to be ME :-) And to all my thousands of daily readers, I just thought let me share this with you guys..

OK so I was having a conversation with my hubby regarding this whole influencer and social media life and a lot of things came across my mind..

I started to think so many things and how I have been discouraged by numbers (views on my channel, likes, followers, audience etc)...especially when I started and even up till now lol.. I'm actually laughing because its really funny how people don't wanna see you grow, especially when they wanna be YOU.. It's only human and my dad always said to me before he passed away that it's the people that are closest to you that will not support you (being a business man himself)

When I look back and reflect on 2018 right from January up until now, I cannot but be super duper grateful of my achievements especially through my blog, youtube, social media etc.. It might be small but trust me it is mighty.. I have collaborated with so many brands that approach me that even got me thinking "do you actually mean you wanna collaborate with me Sai or another person lol"... its GOD...  Oh yes ITV approached me as well; I mean aren't I just a lucky girl???

Now this all balls down to me being consistent (well at some stage lol); I relapsed a little bit as some stage as I was not really enthusiastic about it and I was just discouraged and didn't want people to know me but I thought to myself, why quit when you've just started to pick up....

OK so Sai get to the point lol..... The point I am trying to make is, do not give up hope in whatever you are doing.. Consistency is key, it is a very vital and integral part of being an influencer and a business person, a lot of people would have discouraged you or not supported you in the past or present but do not let it discourage you.. Trust me it will affect you but you just have to keep going... The bible says "Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope"

You see anytime I read this verse, it gives me hope, and I am truly sorry if there are non christians reading, this is just a way I connect with my God..

Do not give up, keep going, keep being consistent, your time will come..

Remember everytime we pray, we pray for success; we do not pray for jealousy, we do not pray for envy nor do we pray for entitlement.. However, all these factors come with Success because as soon as you become successful or you are doing a bit well, people start to get jealous & envious.. That tells you that you are definately doing something right so DON'T GIVE UP, and as soon as you get a tiny sniff of envy from someone, then you should know you are 100% doing something right, and notice that this always comes from the most unlikely people, either family, neighbours, friends or even colleagues...

I have learnt to be myself and keep doing me; and one thing my hubby and I are both proud of me for is the fact that I am not the one to ever look at what the other person is doing, in other words; regardless of anything on this planet earth, I never get jealous or envious of people.. I know we are all human but I just always blank out and never ever let someone's rise or success get to me. You know why? Because I know that If I put my mind to it, I can even do better so why get jealous of someone else's hard work, isn't that an evil and unfair act???

Oh yeah I saw this funny post on social media somewhere, isn't it so true lol...

Moving on lol, I also want to continue being a Business Consultant, as you may or may not know, I have an MBA and it's only right for me to put it to a very good use, so get in contact with me for any business advise, consultations etc.. I do write Business plans for people as well (at a very affordable rate) so be in touch..

So sorry if this is not a food post that you were expecting but I just have to be honest with myself and educate some of you.. And by the way, subscribe to my youtube channel for more content, have a fantabulous time and remember to smile, it makes you look younger :-)

By the way new stuff in the coming years for me on TV, so stay glued readers..

Thanks for reading, not judging and thanks for understanding that I'm also human...
