The weekend is here & I feel like this week went by so quickly; I also managed to get alot of things done and was mostly busy.
Ok so at a time whereby nursing mums are being attacked for breastfeeding in public, I was driving in North London the other day and I saw the below sign about breastfeeding mums.
Now there's been alot of controversy about people not being comfortable with mums who breastfeed in Public, and as a breastfeeding mum myself, I find it atrocious for people to condemn breastfeeding in Public.
Now children are very unpredictable and I am talking from experience here; my daughter was exclusively breastfed up until 6 months with no bottle feed.
We might be out shopping or taking a walk and voila, she wants a feed. Now this is a baby who completely refused bottle feed & I'm sure mums out there can testify to this.
As soon as I saw this post I was soooo happy, I felt a sense of relief in me. Obviously I do get a very funny look on people's faces when I breastfeed my daughter in public & this is not encouraging at all.
We all know breast milk is the best source of feed for a baby and to have people condemn this in public is very absurd.. Not even to mums who struggle to breastfeed, this can discourage them from even attempting to breastfeed their children.
This restaurant (Papa Del's) is based on Archway road London N6 and they do not only invite breastfeeding mums; they also offer them a free cuppa. Who doesn't like Freebies?? Well I do and thank you Papa Del's for this. I'll be seeing you soon :-)
The video at the bottom of this post is very disturbing to me, it shows a man who was extremely aggressive towards a breastfeeding mum on a train.
I'm not sure how I would have reacted if this was me, the video would go more viral than it has, trust me I'll go in on the man.
I'm definately going to be making a trip back to Papa Del's when next I touch down in London.
Today I'll be sharing with you a very quick healthy meal I came up with. Its super duper easy, healthy and very tasty.

Leave to simmer for few minutes and finally add the eggs, leave to simmer for 2 minutes and voila all done.
I've had suc a busy weekend shopping and hosting, I feel like I had no time for myself; but I certainly had so much time to do alot of cooking.
Part of the cooking I did is the traditional "Sunday Rice". Now if your background is of Afro-Caribbean, this will sound familiar to you. I don't think there's any Afro-Caribbean household that do not have Sunday rice for Sunday Lunch/Dinner.
I made this Buka Stew with Easy cook Basmati Rice.
I don't have alot of pictures for it, but here's a quick short recipe.
Ingredients
2 tin of Plum tomatoes or Fresh tomatoes
1 red onion
1 scotch bonnet (depending on your level of spice, add more if you wish)
2 red bell peppers
Salt to taste
2 stock cubes
a teaspoon of all purpose seasoning
200ml of vegetable, olive or sunflower oil
Grilled assorted meats
Method
Blend all the tomatoes, onion, scotch bonnet and bell pepper until near fine; pou it in a pot/saucepan and leave to cook for about 30 minutes or until the liquid is completely dry. Whilst this is boiling, place the oil in a separate pan and let it fry for about 20 minutes on low heat.
Now add the oil to the blended mixture, (take care as this will get really really hot).
Add all your seasonings and stir, now add your assorted meat, chicken, turkey or whatever you prefer and leave to steam for a further 10 minutes.
Trust me the taste is divine :-)
I served mine with some Easy Cook Basmati Rice and Plantain :-)
Happy Fridayyyyyy and Happy National Strawberry Ice-cream day.
Wherever you are, make sure you celebrate with a strawberry ice-cream. I'm in the UK but the weather right now is 2° C but that won't stop me from enjoying a lovely ice-cream later today :-) Have a great weekend guys
Hey Foodies, so I'm still all about re-organising my life this year.
I used to have troubles getting myself out of bed in the past years and I have a few tips to share with you all if you find yourself in the same boat.
Are you having troubles getting yourself out of bed either to start the day or just getting out of bed in general?
Try these tips to get you up and going.
Monitor your sleep rhythm with an app, it knows when your body should wake up. There are so many apps on the app store that do this. Sleep studio is one that I have been using; its a fab app that uses audio and video and really makes me sleep well, & wake up feeling refreshed.
Put a glass of water next to your alarm, hydrating helps to get you out of bed and get on with your day.
Play a game on your phone, listen to music, read a book or the bible. It gets your brain going.
Keep your alarm across the room- This one is probably the most annoying as I have to get up to switch the alarm off; trust me it helps.
Open your curtains before you go to bed, sunlight is nature's alarm clock so having a bright room will definately wake you up.
Get a descent amount of sleep- Between 6 &9 hours is the recommended daily sleep for an adult; a regular bedtime ritual will help you wind down and prepare for bed. This also teaches the brain to become familiar with sleep times and wake times.
Don't overdo it on the weekends, it may feel good to get 16 hours sleep; but trust me you are screwing yourself up for that Monday start
Try these tips above and I'm sure you won't have anymore troubles getting out of bed.
Hey Foodies, For those of you who don't fancy deep frying either because of calories or safety, these are the perfect alternative. Oven baked scotch eggs still have alot of flavour from the herby sausage meat I used to the well seasoned breadcrumbs. And also these go perfectly well with the good old traditional brown sauce, ketchup or any sauce of your choice.
