Christmas is just over 10 weeks away and if you are a tad bit organised like me, you will have already started your Christmas shopping.

If you are stuck on how to spend less during the festive period or just shopping in general, then please read on :-)

Here are a few tricks on how to spend less money when you do your shopping:-

  • Trick one- Go to the Supermarket Just before Closing:- The trick here lies in going to the grocery store not just really early in the morning, but just before closing time. Reason being that market traders often offer their products at lower process for not having too much unsold merchandise from having to reload the truck and bring it back. Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's & Waitrose usually do this a lot and it come in very handy for me.

  • Trick two- Diversify the Stores where you do the Shopping:-  When doing your shopping, try and choose the stores in operation of different purchases. For example, for basic products such as Rice, Pasta, Flour and detergent, you can choose a discount and do some economy. The markets are to be privileged to buy fresh produce. For vegetables, to give priority to the farmers market stalls that have more fresh, genuine and often cheaper.

  • Trick Three:- Check the Expiration Dates- Be attentive to the promotions offered at the supermarket. They are often linked to the expiry date printed on the packaging. For example, the meat that comes close to the expiration date, it is often sold on promotion. Buy it to cook it the same evening and you will make some economies.
For products such as yogurt or cheese, even if the expiration date printed on the packaging is close, they can consume even up to one week after the due date without any risk to Health. Then take advantage of the promotion on the yogurt due to expire allows to economize.

  • Trick Four:- Make a Shopping List- If there is one thing I always do when I either shop online or in-store, it would be to always make sure I make a list. I do this so as to be sure not to give in to temptation of buying things that I don't actually need or are unnecessary. The best thing to do is to go to the supermarket with a shopping list either doing it the traditional way of writing on a piece of paper or writing it on my mobile phone's note pad :-) This was you will only go for the departments that you are interested in and will buy only what you really need.

  • Trick Five:- Do your shopping Online-  If you have been reading my blog for a while, you would know how much I promote online shopping. I find it easier and more convenient. You get the items delivered to your door and you can get free delivery with some supermarkets or even as cheap as £1 delivery. The great thing about shopping online is not just the convenience, it is also the fact that you will be saving a lot of money on travel i.e. petrol or transport fee, the queues at the checkouts and also buying things that are not necessary. I also have a shopping list already saved on my online store with the same supermarket I shop with, so each month I either recycle or add more items to my basket. Easy peasey :-)

Ever heard of Fatty Foods that you can consume without that guilt feeling?.

Lets look at a few of them, it might even give you a shocker lol.....

Raw Egg Yolk

Not all fats are bad,  some are essential to the organism. The raw egg yolk for example is very rich in enzymes and is easily assimilated, without providing any toxin. But attenziona to cook it because it can be the cause of excess cholesterol in the blood.

Extra Dark Chocolate

Now you might be thinking, how can chocolates be good for you... Well the extra dark chocolate is metabolized without having any impact on cholesterol.
It has an antioxidant action thanks to flavonoids it contains and is a good source of minerals.

Salmon

This is one of my favourite fish, I love to have mine with some homemade rost potatoes and veggies on the side.  Salmon, while being a particularly tasty fish is healthy because it contains a lot of omega 3 essential fatty acids that the body must be introduced through diet, as it is unable to synthesize them alone. Other fish are an excellent source of omega 3 are cod, sardines, herring, mackerel and tuna.

Soybean Oil

Another oil that is good for you is Soybean oil, it is mostly been used in the Asian region; it contains little saturated fat, but be careful about how it is preserved as it can easily become rancid.

Coconut

Coconut is a very calorific fruit, in fact, 100 grams of pulp make well 360 calories, but contains important minerals such as magnesium, potassium, copper, phosphorus, zinc, iron, B vitamins and vegetable and is very good for you

The immune system, as its name suggests, is the sum of the functions of different organs and glands, which work together in order to keep the body in balance. For this often only one remedy does not allow thoughts during the flu season. But by adopting an appropriate lifestyle you can reduce the recurrence of infections and feel stronger throughout the year.

The help of Homeopathy

Homeopathy is used by many for years also in order to strengthen the immune system. Hiring the remedies recommended by a homeopathic doctor would be the best thing, because he will indicate the most suitable substances for the individual case and the needs of everyone. The treatment can be more or less long, also depending on the state of the defences of each patient.

Refelxology

The stimulation of the reflex points on the foot may be appropriate in order to rebalance the body. Indeed, with it is possible to act on the glands and also on the intestine, which acts properly protecting the body only in the event that is in equilibrium and full functions regime.Anche in this case some sessions to get results and, you will be needed to keep them, it will be advisable to redo every once in a meeting with the reflexologist

The Use of Spices

Even the use of some spices can help stimulate the body and its defenses. One of these is definitely
ginger, which in addition to allowing the prevention, is also very useful in cases where they contract either a cold or it feels congestionati.Allo same way, also the nutmeg is very useful, as indicated as natural antiviral. The preparations may be added to foods, but if used as a remedy, should be measured by a herbalist.

As a mum to a young girl, this day cannot pass me by.

International Day of the Girl Child is an international observance day declared by the United Nations; it is also called the Day of the Girl and the International Day of the Girl. October 11, 2012, was the first Day of the Girl. The observation supports more opportunity for girls and increases awareness of gender inequality faced by girls worldwide based upon their gender. This inequality includes areas such as right to education/access to education, nutrition, legal rights, medical care, and protection from discrimination, violence against women and unfree child marriage.

The International Day of the Girl Child initiative began as a project of Plan International, a non-governmental organization that operates worldwide. The idea for an international day of observance and celebration grew out of Plan International's Because I Am a Girl campaign, which raises awareness of the importance of nurturing girls globally and in developing countries in particular. Plan International representatives in Canada approached the Canadian federal government to seek to the coalition of supporters raised awareness of the initiative internationally.
International Day of the Girl Child was formally proposed as a resolution by Canada in the United Nations General Assembly. Rona Ambrose, Canada's Minister for the Status of Women, sponsored the resolution; a delegation of women and girls made presentations in support of the initiative at the 55th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. On December 19, 2011, the United Nations General Assembly voted to pass a resolution adopting October 11, 2012 as the inaugural International Day of the Girl Child. The resolution states that the Day of the Girl recognizes. -source-wiki.com

So here is wishing every girl child a Happy International Day of the Girl :-)

Being a girl should not mean special opportunities. It should mean EQUAL opportunities.

Hey Foodies,

I'm so excited to review this restaurant on my blog today :-)

Today I will be reviewing Dim T restaurant in London Bridge.

I booked a table for 6 online and instantly got a booking confirmation and reference number that my table had been reserved.

As this was on a busy Friday night, we arrived at the restaurant greeted by a gentleman at the reservation desk who had my name on his little sheet of paper but wasn't able to find a table for me.

Now I live in Bedfordshire, so quiet a commute for me all the way to London Bridge.

After waiting for an hour, we finally got a table, we also had to wait for a waiter to attend to us who took our drinks order.

Now as a Vlogger, I had my recording camera with me, documenting my whole time there, the lady who attended to us was so rude; she shouted at me for vlogging the drinks being served (even though I didn't record her).

Ok so my verdict below.

Food-

For starter we had the Dim T sharing platter which consists of Vegetable spring rolls, chicken gyoza, five spiced squid, salt & pepper prawns, edamame & ribs with dipping sauces.

It was really tasty but could do with more food on the plate lol.

For main we had a bit of everything, below is one of their Soup Noodle called- Seafood Laska which consists of Vermicelli noodles with prawns, squid, pak choi and bean sprouts in a medium hot coconut curry flavoured broth.

It wasn't really my cup of tea as it all got wasted, but I enjoyed the seafood and hardly had the soup.

We also had some Thai green Curry chicken with special fried rice below; tasted really good.. I actually enjoyed this one.

I opted out desserts as we were so full up at this stage.

For drinks I had the Mango & Coconut Cocktail which had Bacardi rum, cream coconut, lime & mango.. Again very tasty, infact too tasty I forgot to take a pic :-)

Price

Hmm for a central London restaurant, it wasn't too bad, the started was £12.95 each and we ordered 3 portions, the mains were £9.25 each and we ordered 6 portions, the drinks were £6.75 each with 6 portions, so overall we spent just under £200 for 6 people which is not bad at all.

Ambience

Really great atmosphere to be with friends, however it does get really noisy, so in case you are planning on having a quiet time on a Friday night, then this is not the place to be as it get really noisy.

Overall

Apart from some of their rude staffs, we had a great time and I should be visiting again soon.

What a day to celebrate world Smile Day, Happy Friyayyyyyyyyyy

World Smile Day is celebrated on the first Friday in the month of October every year. The idea of World Smile Day was coined and initiated by Harvey Ball, a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts. Harvey Ball is known to have created the Smiley Face in 1963. The World's first World Smile Day was held in the year 1999 and has been held annually since.

After Harvey died in 2001, the "Harvey Ball World Smile Foundation" was created to honour his name and memory. The slogan of the Smile Foundation is "improving this world, one smile at a time." The Foundation continues as the official sponsor of World Smile Day each year.

The message of the World Smile Day 2010 is "Do an act of kindness. Help one person smile."- source-wiki.com

Good Morning readers,

Today 6th October is National Noodle Day... Noodles come in many varieties, and National Noodle Day, which is observed each year on October 6, recognizes them all. Noodles are made by rolling unleavened dough out and cutting into a variety of shapes. While long, flat noodles may seem to be the most common, they come in a variety of forms, names, and textures. Each kind of noodle will pair differently with different kinds of sauces and meals.

Found in regions all over the world, noodles are made from a variety of flours. In Asian cuisine, root vegetables, such as yams and potatoes, beans, rice, wheat, and buckwheat are all found in a wide assortment of noodles. Europeans make most of their pasta from durum or semolina flour, though potato noodles a enjoyed as well.

In 2002, archaeologists along the Yellow River in China found an earthenware bowl containing some 4000-year-old noodles which had been well preserved.

Here are 5 facts you need to know about Noodles :-)

1. Australians consume more than 18 million kilograms of noodles every year – that’s almost one kilogram per person!

2. In Japan, it is considered good form to loudly slurp your noodles as a way of telling your host that you are enjoying the meal.

3. Noodles symbolise longevity in China.

4. Noodles have been created from flour and water since 1000BC and today they are more popular than ever.

5. Noodles are low in fat and have a very low sodium content.
