According to Foodimentary, here are five fun facts about Biscuits:-
  • In the United Kingdom, the word “biscuit” is used to refer to what the United States would call a “cookie”.
  • White flour, commonly used to bake biscuits, is almost instantly metabolized into sugar.  Biscuits will quickly spike your blood-sugar level.

Hello and welcome to my blog on this glorious Wednesday; I love this segment on my blog where I announce what "National Food Day" it is.

Here is a video of some bbq chicken for inspiration for you..

Today May 16th is a day celebrated as National BBQ or Barbeque Day and according to Foodimentary.com, here are food facts about National BBQ day:-

  • Grilling is no longer considered a male dominated activity. While 51 percent of males cha-cha with the charcoal, 49 percent of women flamenco with the flames.
  • 263,000 moist towelettes will wipe up BBQ sauce covering fingers and faces.
  • The original barbecue sauce, dating back hundreds of years, consisted of vinegar and pepper.
  • Lyndon B. Johnson, the 36th president of the United States, hosted the first barbecue at the White House that featured Texas-style barbecued ribs. source-foodimentary.com

And just incase you don't know what a Barbeque is, it is a cooking method, a style of food, and a name for a meal or gathering at which this style of food is cooked and served. Barbecuing is done slowly over low, indirect heat and the food is flavored by the smoking process, while grilling, a related process, is generally done quickly over moderate-to-high direct heat that produces little smoke.

So whatever you are up to today, make sure you put some chicken on the barbeque and celebrate this awesomeness :-) and please tag us on all social media below:-
